Avéli® Cellulite Treatment

Up to 90% of women have cellulite, yet it’s not commonly talked about. The Quatela Center is excited to be the first in the Rochester area to offer Avéli – a new, unique, FDA-cleared way to address cellulite from the inside out! The first and only cellulite procedure designed specifically to target and release the septa (fibrous connective tissue) that cause cellulite depression, the device can treat both the buttocks and the thighs in a single procedure.

Avéli® Cellulite Treatment

How Does Avéli Work?

Avéli is a minimally invasive procedure popular with patients from Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, and throughout New York. It utilizes a one-time use handheld device to precisely identify and release the fibrous bands, known as septa, that cause tension between your skin and the structures below.  These bands stiffen or shrink over time, causing the dimples (cellulite) that we see on the surface of the skin.  By targeting and releasing these septa from the inside, the skin is no longer pulled inward to create the dimple.

Your Avéli Consultation

During your consultation, your surgeon will review your health history and listen to you describe your primary concerns.  Additionally, your buttock and/or thigh area will be carefully examined to assess your personal characteristics and concerns.  The consultation is an important opportunity to discuss your short and long-term cosmetic goals and ask questions about your treatment options. Your surgeon will explain the Avéli procedure, what you can expect during recovery, and potential complications.

Your surgeon will create a personalized treatment plan designed around your needs and lifestyle, based on the consultation.

Your Avéli Procedure

Avéli is performed in the office.  A local anesthetic is used to numb the area(s) to be treated, helping to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.  The procedure takes about an hour, but will vary depending on each individual’s procedure plan.

Recovery After Avéli

Minimal downtime is expected after the Avéli procedure.  Mild pain may be experienced within the first 24 hours after treatment.  Bruising and tenderness should be expected, which typically resolves within 30 days.  Small areas of firmness, generally not visible or painful, may also be present and typically resolve in a couple of months.

Most patients return to their normal activities within one day of the procedure, however it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities or workouts in the first few days or weeks after the procedure so the area can heal.

Avéli Results

An improvement in cellulite should be visible once the swelling and bruising subside.  Patients should start to see the effects by one month post-procedure.

  • Wants a visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite
  • Has true cellulite dimples and good skin quality without laxity
  • Has realistic goals and expectations about the results

The first step in deciding if you are a good candidate for Avéli is to meet with Dr. Amalfi or Dr. Krasniak for a private, personal consultation appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need multiple sessions?

Designed to be a single, in-office treatment, Avéli can fully address dimpled cellulite targets on both your buttocks and thighs.  Each dimple is only treated once; however, depending on the size of the area to be treated and the number of dimples, the procedure may be spread over multiple visits.

Is there any downtime after the Avéli procedure?

There is little to no downtime after Avéli.  Most patients return to normal activities within 24-48 hours.
