We are up and running with telemedicine here at the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery. And we have to say, the transition has been so smooth and surprisingly a lot of fun.
ZOOM has become quite the household name at this point. My five year old has a ZOOM Meeting with his Kindergarten class every morning. And my preschooler got to share her amazing Unicorn Birthday Cake and a special moment with over 50 friends and family via our first ZOOM Birthday party. If my little ones can do it, you can too. Here’s how.
What do I do?
For new patients, visit our website to request a consultation or call our team at (585) 244-1000 to set up your consult. Let our Patient Consultant know that you are interested in a virtual consult. As with all new patients, you will be sent a link to a personal portal to fill out some personal health information and sign your intake paperwork. Our new patients will also get a “how to” guide to take your own photos. These photos will allow your doctor to take a look at your areas of concern and prepare for your consult.
What do I need?
Your virtual consultation can happen on an iPhone, tablet, android or any computer with web cam capabilities. We recommend connecting to your home Wi-Fi to ensure a good connection. Patient privacy is very important to us. Our doctors will be conducting their consults via home offices which are private, quiet, and ensure your confidentiality. We recommend you find a space in your own home where you can be alone, uninterrupted and have the privacy you need throughout your appointment.
What can I expect?
Just relax and have fun. This is something you have been thinking about for awhile. Use the extra time you have at home to talk to a professional. We will give you real-time advice and the personalized touch you are used to from the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery. We have found with many of our patients that these virtual consults are an exciting way to plan for the future. Scheduling your surgery gives you something exciting to look forward to when the world transitions to a new normal.
Will I still see my doctor in person before my surgery?
Of course! Whether it’s with a fist bump, a handshake or a hug, connecting with our patients is still a critical part of what we do and how we care for people. You will have an in-person visit with your surgeon prior to your scheduled procedure. We can review your surgical plan at that time and make any changes necessary to create a customized treatment plan for your desired outcome.
Is it really that easy?
It is. We promise. And we are here to help. Call the office or go online and get started today. We can’t wait to meet you and start this process. See you on Zoom!
