Have you ever thought about having plastic surgery? It’s a bold question, but be honest! At some point in time, you have looked in the mirror and thought, “What if this was just a little tighter?” Or, “My neck is awful!” Or maybe you woke up one morning and all of a sudden it seemed as though all of the skin on your face and neck had headed south, and you didn’t even recognize yourself. These thoughts rush through your head while you pull and tug at various parts of your face in an effort to recapture your youth. And at the same time that you are thinking how much you would like to do something to improve these areas of concern, you’re also thinking that surgery is scary.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa, and I’m the Patient Consultant for double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Heather Lee of the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery. I’m here to help when these questions and thoughts arise for the first time, or twentieth!
When you make the decision to call a plastic surgeon’s office, it is a big step. It means that you’ve given a lot of thought to making some type of change to your physical appearance, and that you’re serious enough to talk with a professional about that change. As someone who speaks to people every day about their concerns, I don’t take this lightly.
What happens when I call the office for the first time?
When you call the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery with an interest in facial rejuvenation treatments or procedures, I am one of your first points of contact. As a Patient Consultant, my role is to make sure that you have a thorough understanding of what the potential outcome could be when coming in to see Dr. Lee. When you call as a prospective patient, I’ll listen to you as you talk about your areas of concern, and what it is that you are hoping to achieve by coming to our office. Once I understand your goals, I can better explain treatments or procedures that Dr. Lee offers that would address your concerns in the most effective way. I walk you through the consultation process and talk specifically about the procedures, what you can expect for recovery or downtime, and lastly, what to expect financially. I want you to feel informed and empowered, so that there aren’t any surprises when you come in for your appointment. This initial phone call is the beginning of our relationship, and I want to ensure that we start off on the right foot. If you choose to proceed, you’re not only going to be a patient of Dr. Lee, but also a patient of mine, and our relationship is important to me!
What can I expect when I attend my consultation appointment?
The day you come in for your consultation, I will greet you so that you’re able to put a face with a name (or these days, at least the half of a face above the mask!). If during your meeting with Dr. Lee she recommends an injectable treatment, then I stop in to take a peek at the beautiful changes before you head out the door; whether it is a fuller lip, or minimization of fine lines around the nose and mouth, I love to see the final outcome! If Dr. Lee makes a surgical recommendation, you’ll join me in my office after the consultation where we’ll discuss the recommended procedure(s) and the next steps for proceeding, including scheduling surgery. This is an opportunity for me to address any additional questions or concerns about the information provided during your conversation with Dr. Lee.
Our relationship doesn’t end once you schedule surgery. As your personal point of contact, whether you have a question about the procedure, the post-operative instructions, medications, recovery, or even if your spouse has a question, I will be there to take your call. Throughout the entire process, I will address your questions and concerns and obtain the answers you need to ensure that your experience with our office is a positive and rewarding one, and that you always feel listened to and heard.
If facial rejuvenation has ever crossed your mind and you have questions or would like to learn more, I would love to talk with you! I would be happy to share with you what Dr. Lee and the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery can do for you. So, call me at (585) 244-1000 and let’s chat!
